I have no idea who t ;this is but was taken in Liverpool, possibly Bootle. [My Dad has scanned this through so can't see the back]
Would be even better if someone new who they were ;D

Could be anytime from around late WW1-early 1920's.
-
I would guess slightly earlier - around 1905-1910

Thank you both for your time, my instinct was Edwardian :)

She's wearing an outfit similar to Queen Mary - in fact, I initially thought it was her ;D

:D I am trying very hard to fit this lady and son in with my tree somewhere, at the moment my great, great granny is a likely contender, but sadly not Queen Mary. Dock labourers and publicans were about as good as it got for my lot ::)

Queen Mary was far more stern .... the hat is similar but this lady has a friendly face!

I've been really surprised not to find any websites on ladies milinery fashions down the ages.
I don't know what era the photography experts think this portrait was taken but I've found a photograph of an English Ladies Hockey Team nearly halfway down this web page of a lady wearing a similar hat which has a similar feather adornment - the article shows the date of 1938 but that doesn't date any article of clothing only the year it was worm when the photo was taken.

Hi Rena,
Thanks for the link, was certainly an interesting read. I still think my photo is probably more Edwardian times, just wish I knew who they were :(
Does anyone think the lady in this picture on the left is the same lady as in the photo above? Opinions greatly valued.

Hello Hatina. Difficult, but the lady in the first photo looks to have fair-ish hair to me whereas the lady at the right of pic. no. 2 appears to have dark hair.
Regards,
Maggie
