I would appreciate any opinions on the date of the attached 19th century photo.

The Dresses look very much like some worn by my gt.gt.grandmother and family. That photo and one other would have been taken around 1880 to even as late as 1900. Victorian rag curls seem to have been around for a long time, so I feel this photo could be anytime between say 1860 and 1900.

Early-mid 1870's.
These outfits look to have been made from the same bolt by the same person.
They are almost identical in style with the exception of the youngest girl's epaulettes which become brettelles on the other 2.Maybe mother is a dressmaker.

Thanks very much for your opinions. I know who the lady is but have no proof for the girls. Of course, with the clothing so similar, I suspect they are her daughters and Jim's opinion of early - mid 1870s would be spot on.
