Anthony looks to have been born about 1785 according to the 1851 census.
I have found an entry for a Anthony Abson at odds with the census - but it looks to fit.
Name: Anthony Abson
Mother: Ruth Abson
Father: Anthony Abson
Baptism: 27 Mar 1780 - Wakefield, All Saints
Vital: 27 Mar 1780 - Wakefield, All Saints, Yorkshire, England
I wonder if he did tell a bit of a fib about his age.
Any thoughts on this ?
Kindest regards Brian. ;)

Hi
Thanks for the reply, and info on the on line tree.
I now have the detail you quote, but seem to think that he was economical with the truth regarding the 1785 birth year on the 1851 census.
Thanks so much - kindest regards Brian. ;)

Anthony Abson, baptised 27 March 1780 in Wakefield, is in my family tree. I have traced back the tree to Lionel Abson who married Elizabeth Preston in 1569 in Barnbrough.
Just had another look at my tree and Anthony Abson who was baptised in March 1780 died in infancy and was buried in the June of that year. So this isn't your Anthony. Unfortunately not all baptisms are recorded. Some became illegible over time.
