Title: John Lawton
Post by: rach123 on Saturday 18 May 13 19:41 BST (UK)
Hi all

Trying to find information on a John Lawton born 1850/51 in County Cork, Ireland and died in Wales in  Eweny near Bridgend. We know he left Ireland in a hurry then he ended up in Penalt Wales working on my family farm but got my great great Aunt pregnant...hence the connection. Below seems to tie in

John Lawton, aged 20, prisoner in  1871  / Cork City. He assaulted ?Michael Holmes

Wondering how to get more information on this person pre Wales - I have his history from 1888 onwards
Thanks

Rachel

Hi, the problem is that John Lawton was born prior to Civil Registration in Ireland in 1864. Did he marry in Wales, if you have a marriage Cert it will give his fathers name. :)

www.rootsireland.ie  there is a baptism showing up for JOHN LAWTON in 1851 in Co Cork. You would have to purchase to enable location  & parents names.  From research on Census in Wales it seems to be place of birth as Dungourney Co Cork which on roots website comes under IMogeela parish. Do you have a marriage Cert, if so should show his fathers name. :)
