Yes Ciderdrinker it would have been me. Albert Edward was a brother of our Grandfather - I posted this request on the Australian site in the hope that one of his grandchildren may read
and get in touch. The newspaper clip we have did not say which Aust. State his family moved to.
Many thanks,
Pamela-anne.

Hi Pamela-Anne
You can type
Hyde migrant
into the search box here http://naa.gov.au/collection/search/index.aspx and see about a dozen migrants from UK with that name emigrating up to about 1976.
Just hit "begin your search" - no need to register

Many thanks Ros for your advice. Whilst I didn't find anything on our Hyde family member, I found interesting info on my Mother's stepfather. It was data I'd never seen before and gave me dates of when he arrived in Australia etc. Great site.

Hi Pamela-Anne,
That's great that you found some info.
I'm a bit confused by your question ( doesn't take much to confuse me ;D ). Did the people stay in Australia - should we be looking for marriages, deaths etc ? And were they siblings of Albert and May who came to Australia? Or the children of the siblings?
cheers,
Ros

I actually think Ros that I have requested information through an incorrect "media".
As I have been doing family research on our surname - Hyde - one of the brothers of our grandfather had 4 children (that being Albert Edward Hyde). We have a newspaper clipping when Albert and May celebrated their Golden Wedding-they were still living in London. A sentence mentions their elder son and daughter plus their families all live in Australia. I thought that by putting a feeler out via Rootschat, perhaps one of these family members may also be doing research and see the subject name Hyde....and reply. So far, this hasn't happened.
I will now go about this search in a different avenue.
Many thanks.

So Albert's and May's elder son and daughter either with or without families, emigrated to Australia?
This could be their daughter
Births Dec 1911
HYDE Vera L [Bridgen] W Ham 4a/548
The 1911 census would name the two sons. I can't find the family in 1911 but perhaps someone else may. :)
