Title: Power families of Greatisland and Horeswood, Kilmokea, Wexport
Post by: ngtp on Monday 13 May 13 12:52 BST (UK)
I am researching the Hayden and Bishop families from Tramore. Martin Hayden and Margaret Bishop had three boy's born between 1916 to 1922. For some reason the were sent to Greatisland to work on a farm
which was owned by the family of Margaret Bishop's mother Bridget Mary Power and they went to school there.

There are only 2 Power families listed in that area in the  tithe  books of 1824  Michael and Andrew  and in  the1901 census. 2 in Greatisland Margaret and  Richard  and 1 in Horeswood Partick. I am trying to trace any relatives. any information or tips  would be welcomed.
I would imagine that anyone still living there would be related.

Hi I am researching the Power family of West Wexford Duncannon area namely Laurence Power who married 1st May 1858, to Elizabeth Power, he was a school teacher they had two children born in Wexford Margaret, & Maryann, later they went to live in Co Kerry, where Dora, born 1864, Michael born 1866, Charlotte, born 1868, and Edward 1870, they then turned up in Waterford City, where they remained. would any of the above be related to you. I think this was a mixed marriage. Debu

No - afraid not debu - I did check the RootsIreland indexes though as some returns for Duncannon (my hometown) are in the parish of St.James & Templetown, but found nothing.

Have you tried Griffiths Valuation of 1854 to establish the family in the area ?
