I am trying to find the burials of my GGGrandparents and a few of their children. I have heard from someone that she had seen long ago, that someone had listed the Glover's at the cemetery but the name was listed as "Glove" or "Clove". I have the baptism for my GGrandfather and it says he was Baptized at St. Michael's Parish. That is why I am presuming it is St. Michael's Cemetery.
John Glover - born abt 1836 - died abt 1879
Bessie Thornton Glover (his wife) - born abt 1837 - died 1872
Sara Frances Glover (daug) - born 1870 - died 1871
James Andrew (son) - born 1867 - died 1869
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I guess it would have helped a bit if I had said they are listed as dying in Athy, Kildare.
Sorry.

Is there anyone out there who could help check out some Parish Records at the Church in Athy. I have a copy of some information that was sent to a fellow Glover researcher, in 1980, from the Church Rectory, Church Road, Athy about Births and Deaths. I was hoping to find out the parents names in the burials or anything else that may be useful. If you can help I will forward the information I have to work with.
Thank You
Cindy

......I was hoping to find out the parents names in the burials or anything else that may be useful. ....
Burial records are usually quite basic - often just name, and date.
Were your Glover family Church of Ireland ?
(there were two churches named St. Michael's in Athy - one RC and the other CofI)

I'm pretty sure they were Church of Ireland.

can you not tell denomination from the baptism you mentioned earlier ?
As always with early records, this make quite a difference to the search. The cert often gives clues as to the denomination - i.e. in the type of details recorded, the name of the minister or priest etc
St. Michael's cemetery in the town was shared, and Church of Ireland death/burials would probably be recorded in the register in the nearby CofI church. RC death/burials were not recorded by the RC parish at the time.
There appears to have been survey of Memorial Inscriptions carried out on behalf of Kildare Co. Council, but am not sure if this is available online.

Not an easy site to search but it seems to be only War Graves of the British Empire.

See entry 67.

Thank you for this information. Do you know if there are any burial records available or if the headstones are still there?
