Trying to research ancestors by name of Rachel Delaney who Married a Richard Phelan circa 1938. Lived in Golden Lane and Ship Street area of Dublin.

Marriage index has a marriage for a Rachel Delaney 1937 Quarter Jul Sep Dublin South registration district
volume 2 page 602 and there is a Richard Phelan on the same page so it looks probable. The marriage cert should give fathers' names and may help to find their families in the 1911 census.

If you're ordering the marriage cert from the General Registry Office, it would seem worthwhile also to request this birth cert, which looks like the only obvious candidate for Rachel.

Also, given the mother in the following is a Rachel Delaney in 1911 in Golden Lane, this could well be her family before her birth. You'll know if you see the father's name as Bernard on the marriage cert.

They may be listed on the 1939 Dublin  electoral listings (http://www.dublinheritage.ie/electoral/search.php) - There are four Richard Phelan's but I cannot see a Rachel Phelan online; the later listings are available in Pearse Street Library

If the 1917 birth is correct then Rachel may not have been listed in 1939 (just 22)
