I wonder if anyone can help me? My Great Aunt Mathilda Maude Laboureur nee Shepherd went to live in Spain with her husband Jorge Laboureur and I believe that she died in the 1970's but none of my family know where or exactly when. Jorge Laboureur was in the Diplomatic Corp before retiring to Spain with Mathilda. How would I go about finding their date of deaths and where they died in Spain?
Thanks
Maggie

There are no centralised BMD records in Spain.
Each town holds itīs own & if you can find them, they are usually quite detailed, but you need to know which town you are looking for & make your enquiries in Spanish as they wonīt translate.

Hello!
Just read by chance your search request. My husband and I (Odile and Alain Marie) met Jorge and Mathilda in the 70s in Spain. At this time, they lived in Carboneras, provincia de Almeria. They lived in an apartment located in a hotel owned by an American citizen. We met regularly for a few years when we went to Spain, and we sympathized. The last time we met them was in probably 1977 or 1978 (our son was born in 1976); Jorge's health was not very good. If you need their exact address, let us know; we can make some research; also, we have some pictures with them and even a painting by Jorge that he gave us to celebrate our friendship. Concerning us, we are now 71 and 70, we are born in France, and now we are American citizens living in California since 1988. Sincerely, Odile and Alain.
