Welcome to Rootschat,
You will need at least one more post before our personal message system works.
Have you looked on www.freebmd.org.uk for Margaret's marriage?
Whinham is not a very common name so you may also find the births of any later generation children as the mother's maiden name is shown after 1911.
The CWGC site will probably show a next of kin for John, which may be a wife if he was married.

TY for the tip.

Anyone by chance have Whinham's in their family. I am also looking for John Mortimer/Jamieson Whinham. I know according to the 1901 Census in Hebburn(spelling). It shows him at his sister's(My Great Aunt Frances Whinham-Black) home. Occupation shows that Army 1st Durham Light Infantry. Death info I found says he died while in the service. Says he died in 1914 but I cant find a cemetery or a even a list of where he might be buried over seas during the conflicts.
All help will be MUCH appreciated. Thanks
Michal (Great Great Niece)

There are army records online for a John Whinham, son of John, who joined Durham Light Infantry for 12 years in 1899. He was signed off in 1911 but could well have rejoined once the war started. Next of kin was a sister Mrs Mathewson of 107 Gray Street Byker. Does he sound a possible?

There is a death for Margaret J Matthewson in 1943 and that fits with details on a tree for the Whinhams on Ancestry, which is presumably where you got your death dates?
Searching www.freebmd.org.uk might show the marriage.

Robert Matthewson married Margaret "Whinnin" June 1883 Newcastle on Tyne 10b 13
The possibilities for mishearing Whinham are endless so you will need to be inventive with your searches.

OOOO Thank you soo much. That helped tons.

I am the son of Robert Whinham who served in Tripoli. I have started to research my family tree and would love to chat

"Robert Whinham b. 20 Feb 1884 d. 30 Mar 1960 "
Robert was my grandfather and my father was the Robert Whinham who served in Tripoli.
Robert Whinham (Tripoli) had 4 children (Robert, Beverley, Cheryl and Christopher).
I am Christopher and I live in Houston, Texas (USA) with my family. I would love to chat to learn about your side of the family and how we are related.
I just logged onto this chat room so I am not sure how to send you a private message.

This is where Marriage Locator has Margaret's marriage to Robert.
Added - link doesn't seem to be working but it was at St Michael & St Lawrence, Byker. It works if you put Freebmd info in.

I don't know if this link below might be of any relevance but there are sime Whinhams who have death notices.
