Hello all,
I have just been reading through a book by R.T. Jones called ' From Ox team to Tractor-The history of the Mynyddislwyn Agricultural Society 1870-1972' that I have as my Dad was involved in the ploughing matches put on by the society.
I think it would be of interest to anyone researching farming ancestors in the area(Mynyddislwyn, Bedwellty, Bedwas Upper, Llanhilleth and Aberystruth) as it gives details of where ploughing matches were held and lists of prizewinners, as well as details of general local history and photos.
It is available to view in Blackwood and Risca libraries.
