Title: Pasquale Delpinto
Post by: Wexfordskid on Wednesday 24 April 13 00:48 BST (UK)
Hi there, I am fairly new to this so I'm not sure if I am using it correctly. I am searching for information on my great great grandfather Pasquale Delpinto. Pasquale was born around 1876 and died in 1963. He was married to a Winifred Lawson(1897-1974). Together they had several children , one being my great grandfather Rolando Delpinto. I can find a marriage cert for Pasquale and Winifred but anything prior to that is hard to find. I know they got married in Lancashire and I know a bit of information on my great grandfathers siblings , but not on my great great grandfather Pasquale Delpinto or actually even on Winifred Lawson. If anyone has any information it would be great. Thank You

Do you have the certificate - that would give father's name and occupation

Re the record Crisane has found
If Pasquale was only 9 years older than Winifred when they emigrated in 1921 - (aged 35 ) that would make him born 1886 - not 1876 ..
I have checked for him in 1911 census in England /Wales on familysearch and he doesn`t appear to be in the country ..as they married sept qtr 1919 - could he have been in WW1 and came here straight after the war ?
Have you looked for WW1 Services records - he may have signed up to a British Regiment ?
of the 6 children - are there any still alive ?

Google Scottie Press - a Liverpool site - this has a forum "Little Italy " ...the Delpinto surname may be on that site

On the 1921 Ship's Manifest for SS Saturina Pasquale/Winifred are heading to 4 Bank Top, Howdon-on-Tyne, Wallsend, Northumberland. Howdon is either in, or close to, the Tynemouth Registration District where they married.

Wow! I am truly delighted by the rapid response here. Thank you to everyone involved you have really helped in every way! I am going through the information bit by bit as there is so much lol.
As for Pasquales year of birth 1186 does sound alot more correct than 1876 and his marriage to Winifred does ring a bell in the location stated above. At least now I can pinpoint where he came from in Italy , and his mothers name etc. Also facsinating to know they moved over seas from England.  nd in answer to are any of his children alive, as far as I am aware no. My great grandfather passed away in the late 70's and Im pretty sure the last surviving member died in 2009. I myself do not live in England nor does my family. My grandmother Rolando Delpinto's daughter Moved to Ireland in 1969 and we never knew anything about her family as they lost touch, apart from her 2 brothers Pasqulae and rolando and her step mother mabel. Thank you again for your information it is greatly appreciated and Im sure my family will appreciate it also.

Should you wish to go further back re Pasquale's ancestors, it would appear that the LDS have microfilmed Larino, Campobasso, Italy civil registrations from 1809-1900:-
