Title: LE CREN and associated families IN ENGLAND
Post by: miegunyah on Monday 22 April 13 11:03 BST (UK)
My great-grandfather Augustus LeCren (1854-1924, of Hackney and Middlesex), I believe had a grand-daughter (*) cousin to my father Denis Cyril LeCren of Ottawa, Canada.  (*) was living in Canterbury, Kent, when she met my father who was on leave from his bomber base in Yorkshire in the 1940s.   (*)later married Clive, unfortunately I do not know their last name, but in 1961 they were still living in Canterbury where my family visited them in late July of that year. I  remember meeting my cousins, their sons, at that time.

I am unsure of  (*) maiden name because Augustus had daughters as well as sons. I am interested in learning whatever more I can about Augustus's children and their following generations, and if possible to get in touch with any surviving relatives, particulary those cousins I met some 50 years ago.
If anyone knows anything about the whereabouts of this family, would they please contact
Bruce LeCren
Beuamont, AB, Canada

I take it you know all Augustus's children? To save us starting researching by having to find them all, why not list them here with years and places of birth (not ncluding any who are still alive, but unlikely unless Aug fathered them very late in life!).
Then you can look for marriages for each on freebmd, and then children of the marriages, hopefully coming across a Hilda ...  who in turn marries a Clive!

(Must admit I cant even spot Aug on 1901 census ...)

Hello,

Presumably, this is the family. Were there other children - older or younger? Ida looks rather young to be Edith's mother but of course she could be. :)

1901  479/86/ 25  Streatham, London

Augustus W Lecren 46 yrs
Ida A 32 yrs
Edith M 15  yrs
Cryil F 13 yrs
Helen C  11 yrs
Emily M Hay mother in law 63 yrs

regards
heywood

Added you would be best to check Free BMD for later births as lizdb suggests. The person could still be living.

Hi there,  I have no idea how this works, but if you are interested, I am a direct descendent of Augustus William Le Cren.  He was my great, great grandfather.

Hi Charlie

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

Bruce, the original poster, should receive email notifications that we have posted and hopefully come back.

Once he has replied, it might be better for you to discuss 'living' family members off-forum. You can start by using the personal message system, click on the icon under a users name that looks like a clip-board. If it's glowing bright green there is a good chance the other person may be on-line.

Happy hunting.

Dawn

Hi Charlie.

Augustus is my... great great Grandfather.
Bruce, the one who messaged for you earlier, is my Uncle.
I have a really foggy idea of our history... How do you connect to the family?
Attached is a family tree.
Message me on Facebook or email.

Hi Matt

Welcome to Rootschat  ;D

Charlie hasn't been online here since October 2013 but I sent him a message swaying you had posted. Hopefully he'll come back soon.

If not and your post count is 3 or above you can send him a personal message (as mentioned before)

If you haven't already, please take a moment to read our guidelines for posting here, we do have a 'no living people' policy so you might want to tweak your image
