Title: 1841 and 51 Census - HOARE - Rogate
Post by: verona on Wednesday 08 June 05 20:06 BST (UK)
Hello

I'm starting to investigate an new ancestor, Lucy Hoare born Rogate in 1785.  I think she married Henry Pollard in 1807 in Portsea.  What I would like to know is if there are any Hoares in Rogate by the time of the 1841 & 1851 censuses please.

Her parents were John and Sarah nee Goldring.

Many thanks

Hi there Verona

Just had a quick look through the 70 pages of the 1841 census for Rogate in West Sussex - but did not spot any HOARE surnames.

Will have a proper, more slower look this evening

Sorry - didn't realise Rogate was such a large place.

Hi. There are 2 Baptisms in Rogate 1839.
29-09-1839, Samual, Father:Samual, Mother:Sarah.
29-09-1839, George, Father: Samual, Mother: Sarah.

Must be Twins.

Prehaps Samual & Sarah appear on the 1941 Census.
