Title: 1841 &1851 census Newton & St.Quivox - Martin & Hall & Reid families.
Post by: penmoris on Wednesday 08 June 05 18:51 BST (UK)
Can anyone help us to confirm information we have found on Scotland's People? We are looking to find John Hall Martin b. 16/07/1815, bpt. 23/07/1815 at St. Quivox & married to Helen Reid 18/09/1835 also at St.Quivox. He should be in both censuses. His children were Jean Hall b.1836, William Reid b.1838, Helen Alexandra b. 1840, Margaret b. 1842 & another Helen Alexandra b. 1847. John Hall Martin was a shoemaker as was his father Andrew. Is Andrew  Martin still alive in the 1841/1851 census? He was born in Maybole in 1788, his wife Jean Hall born in Newton in 1795 - they married at St. Quivox 30/09/1814.
Thank you,
Regards,
Graham

Hello Maisie,
Thank you for taking the trouble to answer our request. We had in fact found out the information we wanted some time ago but we still appreciate your efforts!
