Civil registration of births started in 1864 so she might be difficult to locate without more details. Did she marry? Have you found her in any census records? any more clues?
-
As aghadowey suggested, if you had more information it would help confirm details
Searching with basic information:
Rootsireland has three Margaret Neary Births in 1864 +/- 5 years in Urlingford RC Parish records, in 1859, 1860 and 1862
I believe that
Margaret born 1860, her parents were Michael NEARY and Catherine HANLON
Both the Margarets born 1859 & 1862 were born to Thomas NEARY & Catherine DORAN
If a child died, it was not unusual to name a second child the same name

Many thanks to both of you for you quick replys
Margaret was born approx 1863 she was aged 38 on the 1901 census living in Evans Land Kilkenny with her children. Her husband James Fitzpatrick born 1864 Urlingford is not included in any of the census, 1901 or 1911.His occupation was a slater.
She was born in Urlingford. Married James in 1882 am awaiting thier marriage cert from Roscommon.
There are prison records for both Margaret and James Fitzpatrick. from Waterford.
Thank you
Cheers

Following a combination of "guess" searches, so subject to confirmation
I believe that Margaret was the daughter of
Michael NEARY and Catherine HANLON
and
James FitzPATRICK was the son of Mathew and Judith ?
as according to a marriage record accessible on rootsireland
This couple married in St. Mary's RC in Kilkenny City in 1882
There are also
a birth/baptism record from St. Mary's for a James FitzPATRICK
(F) Mathew (M) Judith in 1854
a marriage record from St. Mary's for a Mathew FitzPATRICK & Judith ? in 1854
and a marriage record from Urlingford for a Michael NEARY & Catherine HANLON in 1859
There are at least 7 births to Michael and Catherine on-line and a possible census return in 1901
at 3 Moutfinn, Urlingford (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Kilkenny/Urlingford/Mountfinn/1456699/) with a Patrick NEARY at 2.2 Mountfinn (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Kilkenny/Urlingford/Mountfinn/1456698/) possibly their son
Margaret's birth in 1860 is shown as NARY
The prison records you refer in July 1900 to a possible "warrant of commitment" which could imply that James was not at home in 1901 because he was hopitalised
This census return for the workhouse (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Kilkenny/Kilkenny_Urban/Patrick_Street_Upper/1450362/) includes a JF, born in Kilkenny, a slater and aged 46 which is about correct.
All subject to confirmation! :)

Many thanks for this information, it is the first time I have searched Irish records and it is so difficult compared to Wales and England. I am helping a friend her grandfather was Matthew the son of James and Margaret Fitzpatrick. She was unaware of any information regarding Matthews family. Would it be possible to have the names of Margaret's siblings
I am thrilled with this information really had hit a brick wall. Thanks again Heddwch

Irish records can be challenging as many were lost over the years for different reasons and those that are available are spread over many sites, both free and paid.
Often you need to think totally outside the box to search, but always need the actual records to confirm your findings as many names are the same and you can follow the wrong line quite easily.
based on a search of www.rootsireland.ie a paid site
using Michael NEARY and Catherine HANLON as parents
combined with a search on www.familysearch.org
gave the following results
Margaret NARY b./bap. 1860
Sarah NEARY b./bap. 1862
Catherine NEARY b. 21 Aug 1864
Michael NEARY b./bap. 23. Oct 1866
Bridget NEARY b./bap. 1869
Eliza NEARY b./bap. 27 Mar 1871
Patrick NEARY b./bap. 14 May 1873 (rootsireland shows 1859 also)
Patrick's marriage, interestingly, looks like
Kilkenny Oct-Dec 1895 V3 P345 to Kate FLOOD
Hope that this helps - if the cert from the GRO confirms the names at least you're on the right track! If I located a correct prison record for James FitzPATRCIK in the 1890s at the time he lived on the same street in Kilkenny as my OH's ancestors!
