Wondered if anyone knew if this book by Eilish Ellis is available to view anywhere in Galway. There are copies for sale on the internet but with a starting price of £50+ it is too expensive as I dont know if it will give me any info. I regularly visit Ireland from UK but dont know where to look for it

Hello,
It looks as though you could try here (http://vmserver38.nuigalway.ie/primo_library/libweb/action/search.do?dscnt=1&dstmp=1365873289556&ct=search&dum=true&indx=1&vl(4398403UI0)=any&vl(freeText0)=eilish+ellis&fn=search&vl(12428508UI1)=all_items&vid=GAL_VUJ&y=0&x=0&fromLogin=true&fromLogin=true) for information.
Good luck
Heywood

Have you not tried the Library in Galway.

Do not know of this book but another one available on openlibrary.org for free-Emigration from Ireland-Report of the Committee Mr. Tuke's Fund-published June 1882. Covers this period, too.

thanks for replies, hope to get to Galway Library on my next visit
-
are you based in Ireland?
Most Irish libraries operate a service to transfer books for research/check out; it may not be required to actually go to Galway to view the book.

We will be in Longford in a couple of weeks so perhaps if I contact Galway Library to see if they have it they may be able to transfer it to Londford, thanks for that
