Post by: pinbarr on Monday 08 April 13 15:19 BST (UK)
I am looking for a birth record for John Sammon Or Sammons circa 1813. Father was also John

Hi pinbarr

The parish registers for both have been transcribed for the International Genealogical Index (IGI) but no entry or a variant spelling appears there or even any possible siblings.

It is known that entries can be missed so you may have to wait for someone to check the actual registers for you.

Good afternoon
The family are on the 1841 census as Salmons at Corley Ash
John Salmons 55 ag lab y
Mary 55 y
Nathan 20 y
Mary Ann Salt 3 y (GRO Mary Ann Sammons Salt Mar 1838 Meriden, baptised at Coleshill 6.3.1838 d of George and Ann Salt.Waggoner as Mary Ann Salmons Salt.)
Sammon can sound like Salmon and if you can't read or write ,you wouldn't be able to check. And Salmon has been crossed out on the church copy of John Sammon's marriage to Ann Hobal at Leamington.
