A copy of daughter Louisa's birth cert will give mothers maiden name
Births June qtr 1843
Louisa Parker Stourbridge 18 447
EDIT - re: Osprey's reply above
Rachael
It is 8mths since you were given that advice on your previous thread and your last reply said that it was what you were going to do. So why have you posted again for the same info?
There is no other way you will get her maiden name
-
Although in Staffs in 1851 - their 3 eldest children were b Gloucestershire so it's more likely that's where they married as they appear to have been in Gloucs until at least 1839
-
Some people cannot afford to buy birth certificates i have brought some. Ive plucked up the courage to write on here again for advice after 8 months. Maybe i thought someone might be tracing the same Parker family as me :-[
-
don't be sad rachael there's no harm in asking again
-
Thank you thats what i thought :)

Hi
Maybe i thought someone might be tracing the same Parker family as me
Your post was not phrased that way so gave the impression it was a general request for help (eg).
How do i find her Maiden name and her marriage to William.
I was unaware of your previous thread at the time I replied but you will notice I gave exactly the same advice as you had been given previously. Unfortunately at the moment - it is the only way forward.
I appreciate that the cost of shelling out £9.25 for a certificate just isn't possible at times so you may have to consider putting this particular part of your FH on the back burner for the time being.
New transcriptions do become available from time to time so you could keep an eye on the Family Search website just in case - fingers crossed

Forgetting the marriage and just looking at Abia. I have no idea of places in Gloucs and their proximity to Abia's birthplace but the IGI has these Abia/Abiah entries around her birthyear

-
Thank you very much for both of your help i will go through the information you have gave me, thanks for your time and research :) :)
-
The nearest of those places that Carole mentioned in the links , to St Briarvels Hound is Ruardean, according to google maps , a distance of about 11 miles , and that's on todays roads , so probably further long ago ,
-

sorry your still looking after a year -
i expect you have tried the usual things like scrolling through family search for the marriage ect - looking through -matching trees on ancestry , 'witnessees' at relatives marriages prior to her marriage , next door neighbours on the census for clues , and phonetic miss-spells - im hoping yo will find it this year with the help of the nice people on here and dont worry about asking agian - im still looking for maiden name of an Emm coward born abt 1685 - ive been looking for 4 years
-
Thanks for the responses ive done some of the things you have suggested and i will try the others
many thanks to you all for your help.
Kind regards
P.s i will get back to you if i need help ;D

Parker is I believe a gypsy surname, so it might be worth making a post on the traveller board. Regarding the timescale, research sometimes takes decades to complete; when I first started I got back to my 2XGGF on the first morning, researching in Lincoln archives; a very late second marriage meant my father (b1899) had for his father a man bc1828, so I was straight on to pre-registration. Luckily they had stayed in the same town so I was able to track back and find my ancestor's marriage and when he arrived in the town, but though all sources say he was born in 1776 I am still looking. That was shortly after I retired in 1996, 17 years ago. I know of people who have looked for an ancestor for over 30 years, so patience is very much needed. Good luck!

Hello Rachael
I do not know if you are aware, but on the1841 census, AbiaH Parker is living at Hope Mansel, Herefordshire.....
Richard Parker 80 (1761 ) born Herefordshire
Abiah Parker 35 (1806 ) born Herefordshire
Address. Hope Mansel. Registration District Ross
As in accordance, 1841 census ages were rounded up/down by 5 years
Hope Mansel is in the Forest of Dean, not far from Ruarden.
I cannot find any trace of William and the children
As boundaries have changed, I wonder if it might be worth asking on the Herefordshire board ?
Regards
JeannieR

Hi Jeannie, that's a different Abiah. She's still in Hope Mansell in 1851 - HO107/1976 folio 325 pg 4, looks like her age was rounded down a bit more than 5 years! She was baptised in 1794, daughter of Richard. Her death reg Abiah Parker 74 june qtr 1868 Ross vol 6a pg 278.
;)

Thank you again for all of your help, Ive left messages also on the Forest of dean site Ive had some messages back. I will buy one of Abias children's marriage certificate when i next get paid.
Kind regards to you all
Rachael :)

the marriage certs will not help you with the maiden name of Abia, but would give you the name and occupation of their father. You need to get one of the birth certificates to find out her maiden name. I gave you the GRO refs on your previous post and there's a link to the post in reply 1 on this post.
-
Whoops sorry got it wrong again!!!!! I'm not a natural at this at all, will check what you all said about the certificate before i order one. and i will let you know what her maiden name is. :-[
Thanks
