Title: Annoying spam/junk emails
Post by: Peterjay on Thursday 04 April 13 13:56 BST (UK)
Hi,
I am getting inundated with spam/junk emails with addresses like these few examples below, I know how to block emails with addresses like someone@aol.com or someone@yahoo.com.
This selection of emails will not block, and whats more I find that the sender keeps changing the letters before and after the @ sign.
Any ideas will be gratefully acknowledged, many thanks.
Peter.

I can't offer a solution - except to change email addresses!

Personally I use (and have used for some years) those email providers that offer to clear spam at their end.
To that end, I currently use GMX.Com. Not a single spam so far!! ;D

Before, when I was based in the Netherlands, I used Tiscali (which became Telfort) - again, very little spam.

Hi Peter

Have you tried blocking them by subject, or a word in the message which is not likely to come up in normal mail?

Just a thought.

Susan

With my ISP i can just put the domain name in to the blocking box (so for the first one in your list, just enter wweek.com) and this will stop any mail from that entire domain.
Maybe not suitable if they are sending from, for instance, a Hotmail address, but good for the examples you give.
Also, it must be remembered that the address you SEE is not always the address the mail is actually SENT from.

I also recommend gmail - I get about one spam message a month in my inbox, and it is easy to check the spam folder every week or so in case something you want has been put there.

Yes happy with gmail... I have  it set up that hotmail traffic is forwarded to it but the spam stuff is not and then dubious stuff is put in Junk box and not in the main inbox.

Most of mine goes straight into the spam folder. The preview of one today started: "Thee maan you wannt to be is jusst one pilll aaway. " Who would ever open anything like that.  ;D ;D ;D
