I have a church marriage record on my ancestors John Connor and Mary Butler. One of the witnesses is Elizabeth Ready (Mary's half sister).
They were married in 1858 in Monasterevin.
The record does not give any information about the parents of John or Mary however.
Is 1858 too early for the civil register? I would like to research further to find their parents names and possibly more information on Elizabeth Ready.
Thank you

Full civil registration started in 1864, but registration of non-Catholic marriages started in 1845. RC parish marriage records from this time don't usually include father's names, but may include addresses for the bride & groom which can sometime help.
