Please help! I am trying to find Ann Webster who married John Webster in Bedale in 1805 (yes both surnames are webster). I believe she was born in 1785 and possibly in Thornton Watlass or surrounding area. Any information/help will be appreciated! Thanks

Hi Heart,
Just for my curiosity, could the following be Ann's burial details :
Burial, 26th April 1860
Ann Webster
aged 77 years
Approximate birth year - 1783
St John's, Leeming
In 1851, Ann born Thornton, claims she was 66 years old, giving her a birth year of 1785,
as you've stated.
The reason for me saying all this, it might be worth considering Thornton Steward
and providing I'm on the right one, could their daughter Elizabeth have been baptised
there in 1811.

Christening, 21st May 1811
Elizabeth Webster
Parents : John and Anne Webster
Thornton Steward, Yorkshire
Kind regards,
Pels.

This would then be the marriage for the parents of Elizabeth :
Marriage, 8th September 1810
John Webster
Anne Bell
Thornton Steward,Yorkshire
Christening, 13th March 1785
Nancy Bell
Parents : Willm and Mary Bell
Thornton Steward,Yorkshire
Nancy was a variation of Ann, plus in later years, on the 1891 census Elizabeth Webster, spinster was living in Leeming, so a lot of coincidences. The reason I'm querying all this, there aren't any apparent births from 1805 in the Bedale area, but there are from 1811 onwards.
Knowing my luck you'll be referring to the Webster's who are living in Ripon, but hopefully nothing lost by my saying - and it will stop someone else making the same mistake.

Hoping to find the connection between Elizabeth Webster, baptised Thornton Steward in 1811. It would help lay some foundations to what I've posted above, but throw some doubt on the Bedale marriage in 1805.
Have you seen this :

Could Elizabeth Webster, baptised Thornton Steward in 1811 and Frances be
sister's, when you compare - it certainly looks a good possibility :
Christening, 21st May 1811
Elizabeth Webster
Parents : John and Anne Webster
Thornton Steward, Yorkshire
Christening: 8th October 1820
Frances Webster
Parents : John and Anne Webster
Bedale, Yorkshire

Wish I could find William and Frances in 1861, but here's Elizabeth, living on her own and with her full place of birth in 1891 :
~~~~~~~~~~
1891 census :
RG12/4028, Folio 66, Page 4
Yorkshire, Exelby, Leeming and Newton Parish
Leeming
Elizabeth Webster, h, unm, 80, b. Yorkshire, Thornton Steward
An awful lot of trees on Ancestry would disagree with me, but see what you think anyway.
I didn't have a death date for Ann, the one you found looks like it is hers. I have other family members in St John Leeming records. I found Ann in the 1841 and 1851 censuses (same ones you posted)but not the 1861, so the death would match that. I have Frances Webster Seymour as part of the family but not an Elizabeth. However with what you have found, it looks like they are sisters. And it very well could be the piece that links me with the John and Ann married in Thornton Steward instead of the John and Ann married in Bedale. I will do some more digging. The more i dig the more questions I find. Hopefully i will find the answers soon. Thank you for all your help! I think you have found the piece i had been missing.
