There was a Charles Rooney a sponsor to a child of Frederick & Teresas . Charles may have been a brother to Frederick.
There is a baptism for a Charles Mooney St Mary Pro Cathedral 22 June 1835. Parents Michael Rooney & Bety Rooney

Thanks Ballydw will check out your info, the Charles Rooney as sponsor looks like it could be a good research as brother to Frederick Rooney, as the name Charles, Frederick and Christopher were names that were used in later years ie .
Frederick and Teresa have the following children that I can find
Francisca Rooney b 28/10/1856
John Rooney b 3/7/1865
Mary Teresa b 7/5/1868
Patrick b 25/9/1870
Teresa b 31/8/1873
Frederick 23/8/1875

hi genesearcher, have you purchased a full printout of frederick's grave . it might be a family grave as it says extended on glasnevin trust.
-
Hi Dathai
Thanks for your reply
I purchased the full record a while ago, it was the image record that gave a lot of info in relation to Frederick Rooney, (which I downloaded saved but I didn't save the other part of the record) so I don't have access to this record anymore but from another Rooney record I purchased who died well after Frederick, their grave seems to have been a shared grave/common grave as they would say, the family would have lived in tenements in Dublin City so they would prob not have a family grave. Any further help is so much appreciated.

Hi genseacher,
I have been researching my Rooney family too. I was very surprised to read your post today as we seemed to be distantly related. You are a bit further ahead then me. Charles Rooney was my GG Grandad. He was baptised in St Paul's on Arran Quay, which is why the record does not show up on 'irishgenealogy.ie/'. You probably already know you can get the St Paul's records from 'http://www.rootsireland.ie/'. Many of the Rooney family records are from St Pauls. Reading your posts have answered some of my questions too. thank you.

just to add:

Hi Jervis
Does the name Marianne McCarthy or Mary Anne McCarthy mean anything to you as it has comes up on registered births and she is listed as grandmother on
Mary Elizabeth Rooney b 1864 and John Rooney B 1865
who were siblings your Charles Rooney B 1859
and would also be grandmother to Charles.

Hi,
No I don't know who it is. That is a good spot, i looked at those records recently and did not pick up the reference to "grandmother".
I guess that it is Frederick Rooney's mother as Theresa Moore's mother was a Theresa Sharpe.
And I guess she re-married a man name McCarthy.

There appears to be a Marianne McCarthy buried Glasnevin 1866 when entering Beresford as part of address she was about 70 yrs old
http://www.glasnevintrust.ie/genealogy/results/index.xml
edited to add
May have died late 1866 and not registered till first quarter 1867

on the church records site given
Frederick Rooney and Teresa Moore are down as Fredericus Rooney and Teresiam Moore 28.10.1855
there are Baptism on this site

Hi Rathmore
Thanks for your reply I do have the details of their marriage Frederick and Teresa and a few children

Hi Dathai
I bought the glasnevin details extended plus image in relation to below
There appears to be a Marianne McCarthy buried Glasnevin 1866 when entering Beresford as part of address she was about 70 yrs old
http://www.glasnevintrust.ie/genealogy/results/index.xml
Unfortunately I got no next of kin for Maranne McCarthy just her age no details of how she died etc
looks like one page was digitalised only for this record
I did get the following
Glasnevin 1866 Burial
Marianne McCarthy Age 70
Residence 50 Beresford St
Also some of Frederick and Teresa Rooney's children
who are in the grave and died young
Patrick Rooney age 3 died 24 May 1874 20 North Anne St
Mary Rooney age 6 died 2 Aug 1874 20 North Anne St
Teresa Rooney age 1 died 16 Aug 1874 20 North Anne St
There is also (and could be one of their children as they had
Francisca Rooney b 28 Oct 1856) not sure about this one
Frances Rooney Age 7 died 30 Dec 1863 45 Simpsons Court
Mary Rooney Age 2 months died 3 Aug 1864 50 Beresford St
again could be one of their children
Anne Sharp Aged 76 died 28th Dec 1860
78 Lr Exchange St
Teresa Rooney's mother was Teresa Sharp (who married John Moore)
so could Anne Sharp could be a relative.
So I am really stumped on this Marianne McCarthy who is registered as grandmother on some
births of Frederick Rooney and Teresa Moore nee Rooney children births.
I am thinking Marianne comes from the male side (frederick rooney) and maybe remarried but who knows.
Hopefully somebody may add or help me. Brickwall
Regards and thank you
