Post by: jamesL on Monday 25 March 13 18:44 GMT (UK)
Can anyone advise what would be the R C parish for the Carney No2 and Collon No2 reg'n district, in the 1880's. I am looking for poss baptisms and deaths of King family members. Fathers address given as Mullaghmore.
Regards

The RC parish for Mullaghmore Co. Sligo would have been Ahamlish.

Records for the parish are on NLI MicroFilm, but like most of these films only cover up to 1879/1880.

Unless you are dealing with a very common surname it may be better to search for civil records.

p.s. transcripts for this parish appear to be included on Rootsireland (pay-website), with baptism and marriage records up to about 1900.

Hello,

I was just going to post the same information. You can search here: http://sligo.rootsireland.ie/ for Ahamlish RC parish. You need to login and you have to buy credits to download. The index is free but you need to have a first and second name when searching at Parish level.

best wishes
