I am researching the BENT family of Billesdon and am curious to know whether there are any Bents still in the area.
I believe Billesdon is still quite a small village (or perhaps town?) so I guess anyone who lives there would know.
I have only recently found that I am descended from Richard Bent (1749 - 1826) and his wife Mary, nee Allen. I believe their son was Thomas but I don't have any details for him. Thomas's son, William, moved to London and was the licensee of various pubs until his death in 1886.
Any info on these people would be gratefully received.
Many thanks,
Felicity

the Leics villages site for Billesdon is very good
http://www.leicestershirevillages.com/billesdon
family history - they have trade directory entries/ census etc and a link to the local history group who have produced 'A book of about 150 photographs, with informative captions, recording the history of the village from the mid-1800s to the mid-1900s.'.

Felicity,
I too am descended from Richard and Hannah.
