Title: William BROOKS
Post by: Evian on Tuesday 19 March 13 23:22 GMT (UK)
I am trying to find out what happened to my grandfather’s brother William BROOKS who (so I was told) emigrated to Canada. He was born on  December 11th 1887 and baptised at Horsmonden on January 21st 1888. His parents were William BROOKS and Esther BODKIN. On the 1901 census he is living with his parents in Horsmonden, but I cannot find him in 1911 when his parents were living in East Peckham. His mother died in 1916 and his father in 1925.
I have a photo of William taken in a Tonbridge photographers in which he would appear to be about 20/23yrs of age. He is wearing a suit, shirt, tie and has a watch chain visible. I wondered if it was taken just before he left England. The family apparently lost contact with him during WW1. I have searched passenger lists, Canadian war dead lists, and the 1911 Canadian census, but so far have not been able to link him to any of the numerous William BROOKS that I have found.
Is anyone able to help me find out what happened to William?
