Title: Search: Riebold(t), Reibold and perhaps Bryson
Post by: Lingnau on Monday 18 March 13 16:33 GMT (UK)
Hi!
Sorry I speak very bad english.

I´m looking for my relatives in New Zealand.
She was born as Marie or Maria Rieboldt on the island of Ruegen.
The birth could be the 12th October 1926.

She was probably a teacher and married to a british soldier. His family name is perhaps Bryson.

The names of her parents were Karl and Minna Rieboldt.
The brothers were Paul and Peter.

Thanks for your help!
Best regards from Hamburg, Germany
Franziska

Hi,

They first appear on the 1972 Electoral Roll for Lyttelton, Canterbury then 1978/1981, Hastings, Hawke's Bay.

This will give an approximate time for when they were in New Zealand.

There are no David Brysons born in England or Wales in 1928, but there is one in Scotland. I'm afraid I can't check if that is him as I don't have any credits for Scotland's People.

Hello,
thanks for the many answers!
I have another request and question.
Did someone look up the option on Ancestry?
Seeking entry to David Alan Bryson in New Zealand, Electoral Rolls, 1853-1981.
I unfortunately only have permission to search the german lists.
Greetings

Hi,

As I neglected to give you the addresses in Reply #8, I will put them down

1972- 5 Lowick Avenue, with David being a clerk

1978 - 504 Fitzroy Avenue, with David being a P.O. Employee ........ P.O means Post Office

1981 - 181 Nikau Street, David still a P.O. Employee.

Hello. Your best option, as Janette said, is to get the death printout as that will tell you where David was born and his parents. Once you know that then we will probably be able to help you find his family on the UK censuses.

What about looking at the NZ births microfiche first?

Hi,

It might pay to remove the names of the living as well to protect their identity.

Have you seen the two 1999 death notices. They mention various parents/siblings/children/grandchildren.

May be a red herring but as the obit mentions he is the son of Violet, there is this marriage from Freebmd

James B Bryson
June quarter 1928
