please help find a royal connection to my tree.
aLICE Butler was born 1874 to JOhn and Alice Butler in Harrietsham /Boughton malherbe.
Was she the same Alice that married Walter Davies 1900 in Hollingbourne, who had a son Donald, who in turn had a daughter Lucy Mary, whos 2nd husband was Anthony Armstrong Jones? (Lord Snowdon)
Does this make sense, how can i get it confirmed.
I have tried and tried to find the connection and am waiting for a certificate, but while wating can any one throw any light on it????

Hi misha
From the information you have posted I am guessing that Alice was the one who lived with her sister Jeminia and husband (Cutbush) for many years. She is shown as Alice S on a couple of census. The Alice born in 1874 was Alice Sophia and the Alice marrying Walter in 1900 was also Alice Sophia. I reckon this is the same Alice all through.
Then it gets a bit tricky. Do you know where Alice and Walter lived after marriage or the date/place of birth of the son Donald? Or Walters occupation etc.

hi again ec
you were looking up alice butler and Walter davies for me and needed further info.
Looks like they were married in Hollinbourne and the son was born maybe 5th sept 1903
Do these all link together with previous info to make me connected to Lord Snowdon?
thanks for helping

Hi Misha
This looks like it could be them in 1901 - living in Ilford, Essex - 15 Wellesley Road
Walter Davies b1876 Mothory, Carmarthenshire, Wales Head, Commercial Traveller
Alice S Davies b1875 Harrietsham, Kent Wife
Eleanor A Dale b1884 Barking, Essex Servant
RG13/1649 Folio 64 Page19
RD Romford
ED 10
There is a Donald Brook Davies listed born Dec qtr 1903 in Billericay, Essex which is not too far from Ilford. The only way you are going to be more certain if these are a) yours b) the ones who produced the child Donald who later produced tthe child Lucy is to get some certificates I think. The birth cert for Donald should list fathers occupation and mothers maiden name etc.
Hope this helps

Hi Misha
Another thought - Brook (Donald Brook Davies) is more like a surname. Have you found any Brook connections (probably female) marrying into either the Butler or Davies families you have prior to 1903?

thanks for all your help, havent come across any Brooks yet. Perhaps that s something else ill have to look into. ever ending is it !!!! ;D
