Hi,
I'm researching my relatives, the Marshall family of Ontario. They are descended from Wetherill Marshall (1821 - 1884), who was from Aldbrough, East Yorkshire, England. His wife was Ann Simpson (1822 - 1884). They emigrated to Canada in the 1840s.
I would be grateful if anyone could tell me if any of the Marshall men served in World War 1 (as did their Yorkshire cousins) as I have not been able to locate any records which would clarify this. In fact, and information of the Ontario family would be gratefully appreciated.
Thank you,
Christine

Thank you Sandra!
I have only recently discovered that some of the Marshalls emigrated to Canada. I live in Yorkshire, from whence the Marshalls came (my mother is a Marshall). I will investigate the websites you have indicated. It has been fascinating to find this connection.
Thanks again,
Christine

Hi Christine,
Hope you can find the family trees, they have beautiful photographs, showing the house Wetherill lived in and photographs of son W H Marshall. One of the tree owners is a Marshall so probably lots of up to date information for you if you can contact him.
Cheers
