Title: Berengaria Village, Cyprus
Post by: plimmerian on Saturday 16 March 13 03:37 GMT (UK)
my friend is in this photo taken in the late 1950s - (he is 60 this year!) - wondered if anyone had a better copy (long shot) or knew which paper it would have appeared in - thanks!

Berengaria was an army quarters village, after the Turkish invasion in the early 1970's. We were one of the first army families to be posted to Cyprus after the invasion. Prior to the invasion it was used for RAF families - you may find a better photo in a military newspaper. Hope this helps.

I absolutely loved BG as we used to call it. Lazy days in t he enormous swimming pool. We were there 1984 - 1986 with the 2nd Bn Scots Guards.
