I need some help in finding the parents of William Loader, please.
The 1841 census has him as 35 b. Middlesex. 1851 (nameless!) Loader 43 b. Marylebone. So, born around 1806/1808 ish. He married Harriet Read (1808) in St Anne Soho in 1828. By 1861 she was a widow, so his death was between 1851 and 1861. There were 4 William Loader deaths in Marylebone in this period. 2 in 1856, 1 in 1858 and 1 in 1860. As far as I can see, one of the 1856 deaths was an 8 week old boy. When I sent for the death cert. and gave all the details which I knew, I was sent the 1860 cert. I am not convinced that this was the correct one, as the informant (who was present at the death) was not a member of the family even though he had left a widow and grown children. This William was 56 - so born c1804.
I suppose there are still the other 2 certs to think about, but as GRO had all the details, they probably aren't the right age etc anyway.
There are a number of trees on Ancestry with William on, but they all seem to have Joseph Henry Loader and Elizabeth Hannah Sheldon as his parents. Joseph and Elizabeth did have a son William but he was born in 1820. They were married in St. Giles Cripplegate, London, England in 1815, so I don't think that these trees are correct.
Any help/pointers would be appreciated.

Hi Ciderdrinker, I hadn't seen that one, but I feel that he would not have been classed as 35 in 1841, or 43 in 1851, like my ancestor. Thankyou for looking.

Hi
Sorry about the typing error on my last entry .He was of course born and baptized in 1807 which would make him 44 in 1851.

Hi Ciderdrinker, I reckoned you meant 1797!!
There was a William Loades born in Middlesex c1807 who married in London 1832 and died in Durham 1869 aged 62. So I think this is the same one you suggested.
I also know that he wasn't the son of Giles Loader, because that William was given the Freedom of the City of London in Dec 1860.
The William born 1806 to William and Ann appears to have died in 1844 aged 38. He was married to Mary Ann March.
I am having problems following the William born to Samuel and Martha.
I can't see any other births that might be in that year range.
So I am slowly finding out who he WASN'T the son of!!!!
Any other ideas??

Thanks carol8353. I hadn't realised that the ages were now there, which is certainly more helpful. When I sent for a certificate, I was sent the 1860 one, but am not convinced it is the correct one -he was 56 so would have been born around 1804. Looks like the 1858 one would have been born around 1802. Mine was aged 35c in 1841 and 43 in 1851- soooooo - maybe I should be looking elsewhere for his death? Any ideas? Sheila x
