This is me being taken for a hurl in 1949, probably in Prestwick.
Does anyone recognise the location, from the pillars and the pots?

Long shot: could the building behind you be a pub? Looks from this angle like those frosted glass windows some older pubs sometimes have.
-
Or a small hotel?
-
right now I have no idea but I will be in Prestwick in May I will check it out of you like !

I could be wrong but I think it looks like the old red lyon near Prestwick cross across from the main post office on the main St I think it was a hotel in those days but now only a pub I think I will check it out next time im in the uk

Hi Hibee,
I have only lived in Prestwick for three years and I did have a quick look along the Main Street when you first posted but couldn't find any building to match. Could it have been in Ayr?

Hi Andrew
Ayr is a possibility, but I doubt it was much further than that.
Thanks.

A request from 6 years back - I am no nearer finding the answer.

Are there letters above the window?

Yes. Could be ...TEL (Hotel?).
