I am trying to trace a William Roberts born 1911ish in Holbeck or close. His fathers name is John  a Bank Manager by 1940 [He is the missing father of a friend] .Thanks for any help,

William Roberts RAF says birth date 1/3/1911 but I can find no registration for this so wondered if he lied about his age. the 1911 census is no help either.

He may have lied about his birth in order to join up, I cant find a William born about that time in Holbeck. If his DOB is correct he should be on the 1911.

These appear to be the only 2 born in the first quarter of 1911 in the West Riding. If you can find them in the 1911 you may be able to eliminate them.

If you have an address try looking in the electoral rolls for the mothers first name and then look for a marriage and then look for corresponding births with the same maiden name.

Thanks for your help unfortunately all I have is this plus 2 marriage certs, both giving fathers name John and John is deceased by 1945.
