Title: T. S. Clio, Llanegfan
Post by: TLB on Sunday 10 March 13 08:12 GMT (UK)
Can anyone tell me the location or assist with the records for the above . My wife's grand father , Edwin Mills, was there in 1881, when he was aged 14. What I want to know is how long he was there and the reason why especially as he was from Hammersmith. At the moment I believe he was orphaned when he was around 1/2 yrs and in 1871 was living with a cousin

There is some info here:

Boys were placed there by Poor Law Establishments.
Records are at Angelsey Archives.

If you look at that website I mentioned, right down at the bottom it tells you what records you can expect to find.

Just search for 'Clio'.

I was in Llandudno library today when I came across a book entitled 'The Clio'.   It was published in 2011 and the author is Emrys Wyn Roberts.     It is about the history of the Clio and has lots of photographs as well.      I have checked Amazon and it is available for sale at £9.
