Hi John,
I forgot you e-mail address which you gave me at the Ager reunion in Castle Camps.
I have been trying to link your Ager's to mine without success at the moment.
Have you found Elijah's parents yet?
Regards.
-
Hi John,
Have some information for you, I have just sorted through my paper work.
Elijah Ager married Harriett Martin on 5th Feb 1823. Birdbrook.
-
Hi Danielle, thanks for the information on Elijah and Harriett. It is just what I wanted. It allows me to go back a bit further. Will keep you updated as the family tree progresses
-
Hi John,
How are you getting on with hunting Elijah and Harriett.
I haven't been doing to much researching lately but will let you know antthing I come across.
Regards,
Danielle

Hi Danielle,I have a copy of the parish record for Elijah and Harriet. They were married by Banns at Stamboune village church so there is no marriage license. As they were both under 21 it just says that they were married by parents consent and does not give names. They both signed with an"x".The witnesses,Davis and Jarvis I think are local people who could write.Iam pursuing ELIJAH through the Essex County Council Records office which seems a good source and looking at babtisms for Birdbrook,Stambourne and Sturmer where Ephraim was born. Also 1831 and 1821 census.I hope to visit the records office soon.
John

Hi John,
That's great news that you found were they were married.
I have some papers from another researcher who was looking for a John Ager/Agar, it might have your John.
Really curious if our families are related as my GGGgrandfather Isaac b 1777-81 was born Steeple bumpstead[ all the census state this] but still can not find him.
Good luck at Essex Record Office.
Shall be in touch.

Hi Danielle
Through the Essex Record Office I have the baptism of Elijah who is shown in the Bishops transcripts and parish records for 1802 for BIRDBROOK.He is shown as being baptised with his brother George on the 30 th May 1802.
His father is George and his Mother is Mary.I think Elijah was born in 1798 in Birdbrook which is shown in the records of the Latter Day Saints(mormons). How does this tie in with your records.
Best Wishes John

Any news on Elijah? Wondering if you have been to the GRO yet.
Danielle
-
Hi Danielle,
I have been looking at other Agers born in birdbrook around the turn of the 1800's and there families.I think some of the heads of the families in the 1841 and 1851 censuses for birdbrook are Elijah's brothers. His brother george married Caroline Taylor around the same time Elijah was married and they had a son Abraham and daughter Caroline.
Essex cc record office are looking at the following to check there baptism records to see if there mums and dads were Mary and George
James
Joseph
Thomas
John
Danial
Fanny
Isaac(born Birdbrook)
Allof the above were born between1790 and1812 Ithink so were of the same generation of your Isaac.I have looked at all the censuses including 1831 which is a head count.
Once I have the results from the record office I will contact you again. My next task is to find marriage and baptisms of George and Mary,Elijah's parents.
Good Hunting John
-
Hi John,
Sorry I haven't replied sooner but didn't see your post until today.
I have found my paper work for Birdbrook and Steeple bumpstead.I have the parish baptisms from 1714 until 1783, marriges from 1777 till 1833[ which have Elijah and George marrying 2 days a part in 1823.
I also have tried to find George and Mary but without success--I have found Geoge Ager marrying Ann Honsby in 1770 in Steeple bumpstead.
There was a Isaac that married Mary Ann Plum/Plumb in Birdbrook 1924, think this was the son of Abraham.
e-mail me direct on mflg05439@blueyonder.co.uk

Hi Peter,
I have a George Ager born 1767 in Birdbrook on my tree. He was the brother of my 5 x g grandfather William Ager. As far as I know the parents of William, George and their various siblings were William and Jane (nee Alleston) Ager.
I would love to know more about George Ager and his family as, although I have done quite a lot of research on William's line, I know next to nothing about his siblings.
Many thanks
Joanne
