Hello
Wonder if you can help me?
I am looking for the birth of Ellen Trainer (sic), the daughter of James & Ellen, in Ireland in around 1849, and the marriage of James & Ellen, possibly before/around 1845.
The 1861 Census shows them in Newcastle, England with their 4 children. I believe the gap between son James, age 11, and the youngest William, age 6, is due to James marrying again? This William was born in Scotland but the all of the family were born in Ireland, no county is shown, unfortunately.
This Ellen (senior) looks certainly to be William's mother but maybe a step mother to the three older children - Mary Ann, age 15, James, age 11, and Ellen age 13.
I believe that this is the Ellen (jnr) who married a William Thomas Walton, bn 1848, in 1870 at Newcastle.
Can anyone help please?
Many thanks,
Jemima Buoy

Ellen was born well before the start of civil records, so you would need to check for church records to see if a baptism is available. To do this you usually require the denomination of this Trainer/Traynor family, and also a fairly detailed location - i.e. the name of the town, townland or parish they lived in.

Have you checked for son William's birth in Scotland? if born at the start of their birth registration in 1855 there will be lots of family details- not just mother's name but parents' age and place of birth as well as date and place of their marriage.
