Title: 1840s Edbgh: Alexander & Jane Grant druggists (Broughton Street) + Wm Pearson
Post by: aa42john on Tuesday 26 February 13 12:12 GMT (UK)
Does anybody know where I can learn about Druggists and accoucheurs c.1840 esp. in Edinburgh?

I am esp. interested in Alexander and Jane Grant who were at various addresses on Broughton Street.

I also want to know about William Pearson "Writer" who is recorded in Jane's household in the June 1841 census.

Elsewhere on RootsChat, someone posted this link www.bbc.co.uk/history/british/victorians/victorian_medicine_01.shtml which provides an interesting overview of the times.
