Would be most grateful for a transcript of the marriage of Frank HARRIS to Fanny BOSTOCK which took place between 25th & 31st December 1870 at Basford (Notts) St Leodegarius, Keith
-
Freereg has the date of marriage as 26 December 1870 :)
Church St Leodegarius, Basford
Marriage Date 26 December 1870
Groom Frank HARRIS
Bride Fanny BOSTOCK

Thanks for the exact date, Rosie. Unfortunately, however, FreeReg does not state the fathers' names and occupations etc. With a surname as frequent as Harris, which is the one of interest to me, such things are crucial, alas. So if someone who visits the Nottingham Record Office could spare a few minutes to extract the details of this identified marriage, I would be grateful, Keith.

I was just trying to help whoever is going to look it up ;D

You would be better to get this request moved to the Nottingham Board. There is a lady who visits the Notts RO weekly who may do a look up for you.

Carol, many thanks for this advice. I wanted to post the message on the Nottingham Board in the first place, but could not find how to navigate there. I was and still am baffled by the whole layout of Rootschat which seems to contain oceans of advice on copyright, courtesy, how to word a message etc, but does not actually tell me how to get to a specific county ! If you could please tell me what to do I would be very grateful. Keith (wfhc)

Hi, click on "Forum" at the top of the home page, scroll down to "England General" click on "Nottinghamshire" ;D.
Regards, Frank.
Ps, you'll soon get used to it.

Thanks, Frank, for the navigational help. I have now re-posted this on the Nottingham Board, as Carol kindly suggested. My trouble is that I don't log in often enough to remember what to do.
