Looking for burial site of Margaret Blackburn
Margaret was born May 04, 1813 in Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland. Margaret married Matthew Reid on June 20 1835 in Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland. They immigrated to Canada with their children: William, Elizabeth, Agnes and Margaret along with Margaret's parents and siblings on April 16, 1842 on the British barque 'Carlton' from Port Glasgow. Matthew Reid settled in Bathurst Township on Concession Rd 7, on or near Lot NE5, Bathurst Township. There is no record of Margaret, I can find, after 1857 when she gave birth to her last child - Matthew Reid in 1857.
Margaret Blackburn died, probably during childbirth for Matthew. She was possibly buried at Brooke Methodist Cemetery, Lot 6 Con 5 Bathurst Twp., McVeigh's Cemetery, Con 8 Lot 12 Bathurst Twp., or St. Stephen's Anglican/White's Cemetery (Brooke) Con 6 Lot 7 Bathurst Twp.
Thanks

I think you will find her burial place at this link. Put Lanark County in the search engine. Once you find the reference number you can use it to contact the contributing organization for more info if you wish. Instructions can be accessed through the home page.

Thanks Polarbear
I think I might have found her at MacDonalds Corners through your suggestion

You're welcome :). Hope it turns out to be her. It appears there are 2 Matthews buried in the same cemetery .... perhaps one is her husband? Contacting the contributing organization should help sort things out. I believe there would be a charge but it isn't much. Also, a google for the cemetery might turn up contact info. The Matthew H seems to be the son of a William Reid, looking at other records.

The William and Matthew are Matthew Reid's (1815-1893) sons. The Matthew H. Reid is William's son and Matthew (1815) 's grandson. My 3rd great grandfather, Matthew (1815) is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Middleville - he remarried after Margaret died. McDonald's Corners is about 20 miles from where they lived at the time (around Brooke, Bathurst Twp) - so I think it's possible she may be buried there. I'll check it out at the Lanark Archives in the spring.
Thanks again for the help
