I think this is a cabinet card photo?
I'm trying to date the couple so I can identify them in my Parr family tree.
I hope the file is big enough!
Many thanks in advance :D

Hi Tilly...The daters will want to see the back too if you have it.
Carol

Thanks Carol, the back is just plain dark brown/black.
I think I have posted this in the wrong place ???

You are in the right place.

We just need to see the back if we can't figger it out by looking at the front :)
Around 1892-3 or so. The lady has a sweet face and she may have just had a baby. Complete conjecture, of course :)
Batley, just up the road from my lot in Mirfield and Thornhill :)

Hi Tilly...I gave it a quick go for you but it is very badly compressed and pixelates on enlargement.

Many thanks Carol for the photo, much, much clearer! I have scanned it on a larger resolution but don't think it would upload to the site. I can now see that they are younger than I first thought and maybe she had just had a baby?.... but then again they are both a bit on the tubby side ;)
China ~ you are spot on!! Have just discovered that this photographer's studio was in Batley from 1893 - 1899!
Thanks very much ladies :-*

The woman's bodice style is either a late kick-up or early gigot, there's not much difference, which dates it 1892-4ish.
