Hi
Please can you help me with any information on my Great x2 Grandmother Elizabeth Kenton/Kineton. Born 1832, she is on the 1841 census living with William (aged 70) and Sarah (aged 40) on Kyre Common. I assume that William is her Grandfather as Elizabeth's wedding certificate (1853 - Rochford Church) gives her Father's name as Edward Kinton, Labourer. Any info on Edward Kenton and his parents would be fantastic. I have done some research and the name Kenton hails from Somerset/Plymouth.
Many thanks
Jeanie

there is this on familysearch
Baptism Great Kyre Worcestershire

Elizabeth Kineton
Mother's name Susannah Kineton
On Elizabeth's marriage cert what occupation does it give for Edward kenton and who were witnesses???
It is possible Elizabeth was illegitimate and she maybe used her stepfather's forename on the marriage cert - or her father was known to her as Edward???? and she put his name as Kenton
Maybe worth checking - it does happen quite often

Hi Suz
Edward's profession is giving as Labourer, the witnesses were Charles Turner the Groom's brother and "?"/could be Louise Haywood/Hayward. The surprising thing is that Elizabeth is the only one of the wedding group who can sign her own name on the register.
thanks for the help
