Title: Glass/Glasse
Post by: mollyduka on Saturday 16 February 13 02:01 GMT (UK)
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with information on Galbraith Glasse who lived in Gillygooley. His daughter Eleanor married Andrew Glass in Tyrone in 1855. It seems that he died sometime before the wedding. He had another daughter Margaret who married John Buchanan in 1853.
Also any information on Patrick Glass (father of aforementioned Andrew). Andrew, Eleanor and their 2 children emigrated to Australia in 1866.
Thanks

Alison

Hi,
Galbraith Glass was renting a 27 acre farm and a flax mill in Gillygooly from Sir James Hamilton in 1860 according to the Griffiths Valuation http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/.

Hi,
I have also found the death registration of Galbraith Glass in 1889 in Omagh. The death can be found in the Civil Registration Index in familysearch.org. His birth was stated as 1822 so perhaps this was an elder son.

Thanks for your reply, yes, this Galbraith is probably Eleanor's brother as her birthdate is approx 1823.
