I'm trying to find out about Morgan Hill from Carroll, Maryland. I know he was born 16 Aug 1922 and died 28 March 1992. He enlisted in the army in 1942 and was posted to England, but other than that I know nothing at all. It would be great if some-one could tell me more about him and his family.
Thanks
Kim :)

Thank you both, that was quick! What is the best way to look up births and marriages etc? I'm from England so don't really know what is available your end, or how easy it is to access.

Hi Kim,
The USA does not have a BMD index, what is available varies State to State and County to County.
Family search has a good selection of records which will give you an idea of what there is.

In the 1910 & 1920 Census, William & Bettie Pearl appear to be with Bettie's mother Martha E. Hoff.
This looks like Bettie in 1900: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M3K1-G9P
There is a marriage record for David B. Hoff & Martha E. Lockard from Carroll Co., Maryland from 8 Dec. 1869.
David & Martha's burials appear to be here: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=44180805
