Hi there
I wonder is there anyone kind enough to do a look up for a marriage deemed to have taken place there around 1799 - 1820's?? Bit vague I know but family history has a William Campbell marrying Jane Elizabeth Roscoe reputedly the daughter of William Roscoe. I am aware that William Roscoe did indeed have a daughter Jane Elizabeth but she certainly didn't marry my several XG Granddad!!
The family law is quite specific about the place just not the date. I am told William came from Scotland to Liverpool and married Jane on his way to Chester.
Here's hoping anyway!! Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi Lesley,
The family law is quite specific about the place just not the date.
I can tell you that the marriage would not have taken place at any Unitarian Chapel. All English marriages between 1754 and 1837 had to be performed in a Church of England Parish church by a member of the Church of England clergy regardless of religion apart from Quakers and Jews.

Thank you for that - it is most helpful. Unfortunately you have confirmed that the marriage is all an illusion!!
Many thanks indeed.
