Hi Paul,
This is a good site to discover information about parish registers on the IGI using
Batch Numbers:-
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm#PageTitle
Select Derbyshire N - Z, next page scroll down to Norbury.
In most cases the IGI have ALL the registers but worth remembering they do not have all, so
the dates shown are only for those on the IGI.
To be certain what registers survive contact Derbyshire Record Office:-
record.office@derbyshire.gov.uk

Another place to look for this kind of information is Genuki:
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/DBY/Norbury/index.html
(not so much information about Norbury with Roston though :-\)
However once you know the name of the parish church/es in the area, you can often go directly to their website and find more information about the history of the church and it's records.

What has been deposited for safekeeping at Derbyshire records office dates from 1686, the earlier records are from transcriptions held at the Society of Genealogists who have 1673-1812.
The IGI has 1673-1895

ooohh I understand now.The Bishops transcripts for the earlier years have been added but the church register starts 1686.
