This couple is in my tree, both born in Co.Wickow. Richard was born in 1767 in Ballinglen, Parish of Kilcommon and Mary Ann was born in 1784 in Ballycumber, Parish of Kilcommon. Any information appreciated.

I have seen this couple's name spelled as Twamley as well. I do have a John and a George for this couple atlthough I don't have where they died. I also have Margaret, Jane and Robert who went to Canada. I have Ann whom I don't have further info. The parents Richard and Mary Ann are buried in Quebec in the Grace Anglican churchyard. Jane was the second wife of my gg grandfather Richard William Brownrigg

The only time I noted the name spelt differently was in relation to a convict lass and it was spelt
Twamby and Twomby but all headstones of the Wicklow name it is spelt Twamley.
it is most interesting now that you have introduced the Brownrigg name as well.
John Died at Ft. Atkinson, Winneshiek, Iowa on the 22/May 1894
George died 21/9/1875 it was his birth place I would be loving to get correct i feel it must be Canada ( wrong spelling before sorry)
I have John Twamly and who he married his wife died in the same area as he did.
I have nothing more on George perhaps he died a bachelor and never took a wife for life.
Do you have anything on the Cronelea Twamley family?
Twamley Henry Cronelea 25 25 1 2 2 farmer
Twamley Thomas Cronelea 47 4 2 4 farmer & miller
Twamley James Cronelea 47 38 7 farmer
Twamley Zack Cronelea 42 36 1 2 2 farmer
Kilcommon is near Tinahely and Cronelea is within Cookenno spitting distance but all of these names of Twamley it appears were related -
I cannot handle this vibrating message reply thing so must sign off right now

If we are talking the same John, I have that he was born Bef. 1814 and George as born abt. 1816. Then I have another George Twamley who died Sept 21, 1875 who was married to Margaret Shortly/Shortley on Feb 27, 1854 in Canada. The 2 Georges might be the same person and when I look at it now, I bet they are. The death date for George coincides with your information about George, son of Richard and Mary Ann. Margaret Shortly was the daughter of Benjamin James Shortly and Catherine Brownrigg (Catherine is a sister to my gg Richard William Brownrigg.
I don't have anything on other Twamleys from Cronelea.
I have that Margaret Twamley, daughter of Richard and Mary Ann Price, married Joseph Scott.
I have that Jane married my gg grandfather Richard Brownrigg.
I have that Robert Twamley married Jane Law.

If anyone is still doing research on the Twambleys in Canada via Wicklow, I would love to share notes.
My maternal grandmother was Ena Bell Twambley (1901-1922, born Montreal) and her father John Twambley (born 1866), married to Belinda French (1871-1925). It was John's 2nd marriage - 1 child Ella (no children) from a first marriage and my mother (living) does not recall the first wife's name; From John's 2nd marriage to Belinda, children were Emily, Ena, Robert, Wallace, Mary, Lilliane, Alice, Agnes, Alice. All of these children were born in Montreal.
I do not know if John or his father came from Wicklow Ireland, only that one of them did. If anyone can shed light, I would appreciate it.
Thank you,
Debra Aubin

Hi there,
I have that John's father Robert was from Parish of Kilcommon, Co. Wicklow, Ireland but I didn't document a source. Robert's wife was Jane Law born England.
John's first wife was Laura E. Britton.
