Title: Tracing Wettwer family line, Pre 1871 in Hamburg Germany.....

Hi,
Was wondering how to trace family members from Germany.
I know they left Hamburg Germany in around 1871.
I have their Christian names and Surname. I would like to see where they used to live/what they done for a living etc....

Any info would be very useful!!

There are: Hamburg Passenger Lists, 1850-1934

This database contains passenger lists of ships from 1850 to 1934 from the port of Hamburg, Germany, expired (except for the years 1915-1919 due to World War I)

Please note that so far only the years 1877 to 1914 have been indexed. All images are still available for 1850-1934. If you can not find your ancestors with a search by name, try to search the images on the vintage. You can also begin with a search here: Handwritten Indexes, 1855-1934 (http://search.ancestry.de/iexec/?htx=List&dbid=1166)

Carl Gustav August Wettwer born 18th april 1850 to Johan Wettwer and Johane Theresa Wetzel in Naumberg ,Germany......is he one of yours?
