I am pretty sure that my four times great grandparents were William Harvey & Judith (late Musk)
Two of their children were Charity Bapt. 16 Dec 1804 Wilby
And James, born c 1800.
I have been unable to locate any information about either Judith or William.
Do the names ring any bells for anyone?
Here's hoping

Hi
Wonder if this is Judiths Baptism, Burgate only being about 12 miles from Wilby.
20 Apr 1783 Burgate, Suffolk, England. Parents: Edmund and Ann Musk.

'tis strange that the only obvious Judith Musk is only found on familysearch.
Nothing on Ancestry and certainly no marriage to Mr. Harvey.
There a numerous Musk entries in there area for that time period so the you would expect to see Judith (which is not a very common names at that time), but als no ???
-
Can you give your sources for these details please?
The only Charity Harvey I can see married a Robert Allum in 1831 and on every census it states she was born at Horham, Suffolk, ca.1806
Can't find a marriage anywhere between a William Harvey and Judith Musk (how did you come by her maiden name?) - indeed, the only thing I can find is 2 baptisms on the same date at Wilby - 3/12/1837 - for a Susan and Lettice Harvey - with parents being a William and Judith - but they couldn't be having children for 37 years!!
At the moment nothing seems to be adding up.
Annette
PS. There is only one Judith Harvey burial on Suffolk NBI - bc.1774, bur.1863 Stradbrooke, Suffolk but census shows she was the wife of a Lionel Harvey.

I have found these entries on the Suffolk Baptism Index
Both baptised 3 Dec 1837, Wilby St Mary daughters of William HARVEY & Judith (deceased), abode Wilby.
Lettice HARVEY born 3 Jun 1819
Susan HARVEY born 6 Apr 1817
So that explains why Annette is puzzled by the baptism dates the girls were not infants when baptised. Looks like Judith was dead by 1837 although her burial does not show up on the Suffolk Burial Index in Wilby.

:)Thanks for your answers everyone
I am descended from Charity's brother James. Another famiy researcher and I have been looking for their parents for a very long time.
James does not appear on the 1841 census, though he did not die until November that year.
Annette7, Yes Charity Harvey married Robert Allum. Charity is named on her brother James death certificate as being the one who notified his death, rather than his wife Susan ( formerly Lucas) who remarried Thoma Aldous later.
The details of Charity's birth have come from a memeber of the SFH group who looked at the parish register who also gave me this marriage. 14 Mar 1802 William Harvey of Wilby & Judith Musk
Keziah2, The birth years for these two
Lettice HARVEY born 3 Jun 1819
Susan HARVEY born 6 Apr 1817
Are a long time after the marrieage date that I have, which is also from SFH.
If Judith was about 20 (my guess) at her wedding that potentially makes Judith almsot 40 by the time Lettuce was born.

Just to confirm the Suffolk Burial Index is a SFH publication & is transcribed from the PRs. Not unusual for them to have children for many years after their marriage even at the age of 40 :)
There is a lot of non-conformist activity around the Wilby/Stradbroke area - I wonder if they could have attended one of the baptist chapels at some time after their marriage. Might explain why these 2 were baptised late & other baptisms are not showing up on CofE registers.
There are a lot of Musk burials in nearby Stradbroke listed on the Suffolk Burial Index, which might give some clue to Judith's origins. Don't think Strabroke is covered by LDS listings & there are no other online records. You do not say in which parish they married?

:)
Thanks Keziah2
That is very helpful.
Yes, the Suffolk Burial Index is a SFH publication & is transcribed from the PRs.
I will have to look at the non-conformists in the area.
Not something I have done yet. Will have to do my homework about what is available.
Many thanks again.

So, it looks like the following in Wilby for 1841 could be your family:
William Harvey bc.1781
Edward Harvey bc.1816
William Harvey bc.1821
Nathan Harvey bc.1820
Ref. HO107 - 1026 - 14 - 14 - 23
Cannot see any online baptisms for these.
In 1851 William alone and shown as bc.1777 Mellis, Suffolk - ref. HO107 - 1796 - 326 - 6.
Also, Lettice Harvey married a William Feveryear Dec.1840 Hoxne and viewing census confirms she was bc.1819 Wilby.

Thanks Annette,
That certainly is very useful information.
I am constantly amazed at the very helpful folks who are a part of the online genealogy community. I hope that one day I can play it forward and repay the favour.

Going back to Annettes post yesterday & Charity HARVEY born Horham. There are no Harvey burials coming up on the SBI in Wilby but there are quite a few in Horham.
The Horham burials start 12 Feb 1795 with a Margaret age 45 wife of Samuel. Then there are quite a few infant burials children of a John & Martha (late Sheldrick) c1805-1814. Dates are about right for John to be son of Margaret & Samuel. Samuel is buried 11 May 1830 age 81.
Horham & Wilby are neighbouring parishes so it could be that the two families are related - could Samuel & Margaret be William's parents also? No Harvey burials recorded on the SBI in Mellis, so if William was born there the family might not have stayed long.
Claire t also mentioned the bpt of a Judith MUSK in Burgate 1783 - Burgate parish is just across the field from Mellis? & there are MUSK burials in Mellis.

ps I see William & Judith married in Horham

K,
Thank you for all you help.
That is very interesting.
I will have to pull out a pen and paper to try to make sense of it all.
