can anyone tell me where i do research for the isle of lewis,there is no isle of lewis on the board,thankyou

Lewis proper belonged to Ross and Cromarty/ Ross-shire. Harris belonged to Inverness-shire.

If you Google: Genealogy Isle of Lewis you will get lots of site on the Isle Of Lewis

I could try and help if you need something easy!! 

Although, I found with my Lewis side that Scotlands records were useful and was amazed what can be found on google (other internet browsers are available!!!) as one whole branch of my tree had already been researched.   This is useful when you are dealing with so many people who have the same name (common occurance in Lewis)
