hi everyone, not strictly a look up request but request for help with any info, im looking for info about cliff house that stood in crigglestone (known as Mackie Hill area now) wakefield and was owned by the very influencial Mackie family (part of the old house still stands and is now a farmhouse). I have census records etc but can find out very little about the family and what they got up to and have not been able to find out anything about the house or any pictures of it. Anyone know anything? I'd love to find out more about this family and their house. Thanks in advance guys

Hi there, thank you for your reply, I am no longer researching the Mackie family as I was doing a bit of research for my sons school project (he goes to Mackie Hill J&I school, Wakefield) and i did get carried away with it but in the end had to get back to researching my own family. I did however have a lot of contact and info sharing with a lady called Sarah Darnell who is a descendent of the Mackie family and is dedicated to finding out as much as she can about her descendents. I know that she would be thrilled to receive any info that you have on the Mackies and wouldn't mind me passing on her email address if its about family history - which is sarah.darnell@virgin.net. If you explain that I gave you her email and why she will know what its about. Once again thanks for your reply and even though its not my research area any more Im sure that Sarah will be chuffed to bits to hear from you and discover more about her ancestors, shes a lovely lady and will be very grateful.
